Fasting for our minds

Everyone has heard of fasting. The practice of taking a hiatus from food. Doing so has lots of beneficial effects on our bodies.
Mostly ridding our body of toxins.

What about ridding our minds of toxins?

Sound like a good idea?

Here, do this:
( I'm going to go into more detail on my other blog: http://software4yourmind.com )

Don't think a negative thought for seven straight days.

Can't do it?
Of course you can't... What this means is if a negative thought comes into your mind, let it go

Don't let a single negative thought stay in your mind for more than a moment or two.

Often when I hear people speak about meditating, they complain
that they can not concentrate.

Ok fair enough, do the following, this is like a visualization:

Picture a train, lets say it has almost a hundred cars...
You are on one side of the train tracks.
What you're focusing on, what you're meditating on is on the other side of the tracks...

A distracting thougt pops into your mind
instead of bitching and moaning that you've lost your place...

See the distraction as a passing railroad car.

Remember when you get stuck at a RR crossing, waiting for the long train to finish up?

you can still see the street, the cars on the other side of the train.

Get the picture?

So do it, do it right now
Seven consecutive days with no negative thoughts!

Ok,Ok everybodies mind wanders; here is an additional tactic you can use:

Picture your postal mail box.
Negative thought comes in.
don't open it.

If you want, write on it: "return to sender"

Put that damn thing back in the mail box and flip up the flag so the mail man/ mail person can send it back where it came from...

doesn't live here:)

Structure of Subjective Expirience

Taking the topic to another level on www.software4yourmind.com

There I will talk about how your ego is AM and your intuitive self is FM... both play the same tune, one is richer and fuller than the other.

Willpower alternator software

the first thing I'm going to write about is willpower.
I recently had the experience of having to replace my car's alternator.

I had to wait a month to save up the money to fix it.
during that month, I bought a battery charger, I pulled my battery out and recharged it every night...

My recovery is very much like this experience:

Moving to Frederick away from Baltimore(and away from the sources of my temptations) were like recharging my abstinence battery.

Better than being broke down, but not repaired:
I constructed in my mind, an alternator software, a will power alternator-

Tony Robbins and Baltimore's 98Rock

Western society’s condescension of our Non Physical Self.

I was listening to my favorite radio station on my way to work the other day and the DJ’s were talking about infomercials.

One of them mentioned Tony Robbins, he sarcastically described Tony’s work as “…just have a positive attitude”

Why is it that society considers attitude as being a minor thing?

It occurred to me that attitude is perhaps the best example of proof that we have a non physical self.

Atheists and Agnostics seem to get their panties in an uproar over the first step

Atheists and Agnostics seem to get their panties in an uproar over the first step:

You are powerless over your addiction

Well how this concept is processed is relative.
What the hell does that mean?
energy equals mass times the speed of light squared...?
Einstein said "time is an optical delusion"

IF
If you’re operating SOLELY by your ego, if your ego is the only part of you in charge…
Then the statement is factual, you are in fact powerless.

Our ego is, well let’s say it’s our left brain.
Our intuitive self is, for the sake of argument and expediency our right brain

Left is in charge of Doing (and this is the ONLY thing it knows)
Right is in charge of Being

From doing’s perspective being is a non-statement
Our ego is genetically incapable of being...
(OK it only recognizes being as a mental concept, the map is
NOT the terrain)

Now even though every spiritual tradition known to man speaks of the denigration of the ego… you’d go crazy without a healthy ego.

We’d be like Rain Man (…course I’m an excellent driver… Kmart sucks)

Ego is about predictability.
It can only function with a perceived starting point and a perceived ending point
Without a balance between our ego and intuitive self, we have disharmony.

Time is gods dirty trick.
Time likes to fool us into thinking that it is real.

the only time is real is NOW.
past and future are optical delusions.
when you were in your past- it was NOW
when you get to your future= it will be NOW

don't believe me?
do something yesterday... right now
try it the other way...
do something tomarrow...right now

Our Rational mind and Intuitive mind have to work
together like your cars clutch pedal and gas pedal

If you let out the clutch with out pressing on the
gas pedal at the same time...you'll stall

you wont go any where

The Subject Object Relation...

more coming, very soon..I promise
it's 3:51 am and I've got to go to sleep

Everything is as it should be now

I lost my domain names: victimbehavior.com and emotionalboundaries.com

Dad died of cancer in July, I went on a binge for several months...
Everything is as it should be now
- My ex wife is 400 miles away
- I live with my 2 youngest children
- we live in a 300k townhouse with hardwood floors and 4 bathrooms
- I'm having a real parenting relationship w/ my youngest daughter and
I'm lucky she even talks too me based on my screwing up from P.T.S.D. from
incest when I was between the ages of 5 and 10

Substituting Addictions- Boundaries aren't enough

Long time no post...
I've fallen off the wagon with my various victim behaviors, lost the domain names, web hosting accounts,
Gotten evicted (knew it was coming, let it happen), slept in my car for
a week (in early winter... Baltimore is far enough north to get really
cold sometimes)

Now I'm living with my children, ex-wife is 2 weeks clean from crack, booted out
ex wife, moved out of an apartment with a crack
addicted, manipulative roommate, gotten saved and baptized at the
church that is my biggest customer

And what have I learned?

I was wrong.
Well

Didn’t have enough info

What happens when you suddenly have a boundary system when you didn't
have one?

You get to your core.

I learned volumes about self destructive behavior, MY self destructive
behavior from a movie on gambling addiction.

At my core I still don't like myself

More, much more later
Love you
David
